Consistency

Some people believe that when you are good at something it is because you were born with that talent.

Others, that you have simply been consistent.

Have you heard of the 10,000 hour rule?

This rule says that if you want to be really good at something you will need to practice for 10,000 hours.

The truth is that everyone is different, so we all learn faster or slower than others.

But if you are consistent in whatever you want to improve, sooner or later you will master that skill.

I’m actually bad at almost everything.

I remember practicing baseball, volleyball and basketball.

I was very bad at baseball and volleyball, maybe because I didn’t like it too much, but also because I didn’t practice enough.

But unlike the other sports, when I started playing basketball I played every day.

And guess what? Even though I’ve never been on a team, usually when I play on any court someone usually comes out and asks me what team I play on.

When someone tells you that you are bad at something, don’t get upset or stop doing it because you are “bad at it”.

Just practice, practice and practice.

It’s you against you.
